Just a couple of housekeeping items to begin with......

-Please, be on time.  You will be checked in by the AD Department and fill out paperwork before we can look at you.  If you are late then the Costume Department does not get as much time to make sure you look great.  

-Always come dressed in your first, best choice of the descriptions for your character.   After reading the character descriptions that you will find here, make your best pick and wear it in.  However, you will ALWAYS be expected to bring multiple options with you so that we can make the final choices.  The final choices will be made by the Costume Dept.  Please respect that we have the overview of the day and the show, and do not complain about what we ask you to wear. Solid colors, wide stripes, plaids, and large scale prints are great! Some color is good, as long as it isn't neon. Please do not include items with narrow stripes, neons, glitter, sequins, uncomfortable shoes, and clothing with large logos & graphics/ trademarked characters (giant nike symbols, star wars tees, etc). On this particular show, simple logos are okay as long as it is mainly wording/ lettering/ phrases (not large pieces of artwork).

Salty's:

These are people who were born and raised by the ocean. Super worn in clothes that you have been fishing in for years.  Dirt and stains are great!  These people aren't thinking about fashion.  

Men/Women--Old Tees and Tanks, worn in button down shirts, dirty old jeans, shorts, fishing pants.  Work boots, rain boots or old sneakers. Old fishing hats and baseball hats.

Teen Pogues:

These are the folks who live and work in the Outer Banks. Blue collar types. Keep it casual- cut off shorts and the shirt you throw on to cut the grass is just perfect. Also feel free to bring anything with personality- worn in overalls, beat up bucket hats, old fishing shirts etc. Please take a look at the inspiration photos below and bring items along those lines. 

Men- please bring your most worn in t-shirts and tanks, faded swimsuits and shorts, old hats, sunglasses, beat up sneakers and flip flops.

Women- please bring your most worn in t-shirts and tanks, faded swimsuits, old shorts and skirts, super casual dresses, sunglasses, beat up sneakers, flips flops, sandals, and casual purses.

DEPUTIES:

Please bring white undershirts, black socks and black tactical boots if you have them.

THIS IS THE LOCAL DIVE BAR.....

These are the folks who live and work in the Outer Banks. Blue collar types. Keep it casual- cut off shorts and the shirt you throw on to cut the grass is just perfect. Also feel free to bring anything with personality- worn in overalls, beat up bucket hats, old fishing shirts etc. Please take a look at the inspiration photos below and bring items along those lines. 

Lean into your natural character...(ie...surfer bro, punk, etc.)

Men- please bring your most worn in t-shirts and tanks, faded swimsuits and shorts, old hats, sunglasses, beat up sneakers and flip flops.

Women- please bring your most worn in t-shirts and tanks, faded swimsuits, old shorts and skirts, super casual dresses, sunglasses, beat up sneakers, flips flops, sandals, and casual purses.

MIDDLE OF THE ISLAND PATRONS:

THIS IS A CASUAL BEACHY BREAKFAST SPOT---

Men- please bring flip flops, sneakers, t-shirts, short sleeve button front shirts, shorts, casual pants, baseball hats, and sunglasses.

Women- please bring shorts, tank tops, t-shirts, tops, casual pants, casual summer dresses, sandals, sneakers, and flip flops, sunglasses, and casual purses.

BAJAN LOCALS:

These people are Barbados locals. They are used to island life, and their style should feel causal, summery, outdated. The more colorful the better, lean towards subtle and faded colors as opposed to neons. We would love to see colors and patterns mixed together. Outdated styles of tank tops, old worn out polos, t-shirts, casual day dresses, hats, jewelry, shorts of all kinds: cargo, basketball, long denim shorts, old leather sandals, old flip flops, old sneakers are great. 

Final look should be lively and colorful, but old & faded. Think thrifted, but vibrant. Any unique accessories you may have, hats, jewelry, etc. to help build your character. The more worn in & out dated the better! Please refer to the inpso photos below, as they will be most helpful.

KOOK DINERS:

These are our Outer Banks upper crust people. Think preppy casual & out for a lunch date at the country club or a golf/tennis outing with kook friends. Some brands that work well for the Kook characters are Vineyard Vines, Southern Tide, Ralph Lauren, Lily Pulitzer, Rainbows, & Sperrys. These are the most colorful characters on the show so please take a look at the inspiration photos below and bring items along those lines.

Men- please bring polos, button down shirts, bright colored swimsuits/swim trunks, khaki and bright colored shorts, visors, croakies, flip-flops, loafers and boat shoes. 

Women- please bring casual day dresses with practical wedges, flats or sandals, polos and blouses with casual skirts or nice shorts, sundresses, rompers, coverups, sandals, boat shoes, sunglasses, casual purses, and hats. 

**A handful of you will work in an additional scene that takes place on the marina outside the Island Club. In addition to your look from above, please also bring board shorts, causal shorts, coverups, fishing shirts, graphic tees, boot shoes/flip flops. Color is encouraged.**

GOLFERS:

Golfers--please bring: Golf Clothes--Khaki pants or shorts, golf pants/shorts in preppy colors, polo shirts,  collared shirts, golf shoes, nice sneakers, belts and visors and hats are welcome. Please bring golf gloves. 

SERVERS:

We will provide black or white polos and aprons.  Please bring khaki pants, black pants, belt and black shoes.

BARTENDER:

Please bring a black dress shirt, black pants, khaki pants, belt and black shoes.

SINGH'S MEN:

These are body guards for the wealthy Mr. Singh who do his dirty work on his estate and around the island. You really can't be too greasy/dirty/sweaty! They are all coordinating, but not matching. All clothes you bring should be some shade of tan or khaki. Think heavy-duty workwear - Carharrt, Dickies, Red Kap, Wrangler - mixed with grubby tan t-shirts, henleys, cargo pants or shorts. Combat boots, belts, and hats can be black, brown, olive green, or tan. If you don't have anything already stained and dirty, we'd really appreciate you bringing clothes we can add some "movie dirt" to for an authentic look.  Bring an undershirt if you would like, and white, tan or black crew socks.  As always, stay away from large logos or graphics. Please use the photos below for reference.Vests and gun belts will be provided by props.
