Welcome back to shooting Thursday--June 13, 2019! If you are new with OBX, this blog is where you will find out important information on what kind of costumes you should bring as a Background Actor on the show.
Just a couple of housekeeping items to begin with......
-Please, be on time. You will be checked in by the AD Department and fill out paperwork before we can look at you. If you are late then the Costume Department does not get as much time to make sure you look great.
-Always come dressed in your first, best choice of the descriptions for your character. After reading the character descriptions that you will find here, make your best pick and wear it in. However, you will ALWAYS be expected to bring multiple options with you so that we can make the final choices. The final choices will be made by the Costume Dept. Please respect that we have the overview of the day and the show, and do not complain about what we ask you to wear. Solid colors, wide stripes, plaids, and large scale prints are great! Some color is good, as long as it isn't super bright or neon. Please do not include items with narrow stripes, busy patterns, neons, glitter, sequins, expensive or special jewelry, uncomfortable shoes, and clothing with large logos & graphics/ trademarked characters (giant nike symbols, star wars tees, etc). On this particular show, simple logos are okay as long as it is mainly wording/ lettering/ phrases (not large pieces of artwork).
- It is MANDATORY that you read this blog before coming to work EVERY TIME YOU WORK.

Business Types --to become--Library Staff/Faculty (See Below)
Business casual and business wear. Please bring purses and briefcases if you have them.
Men: bring several options of lightweight suits, slacks, blazers, button down shirts, ties and nice polos. Dress shoes and matching belts.
Women:Skirts, slacks, blouses, work dresses, practical heels (no stilettos) or nice flats.
Library Staff/Faculty:
Similar to our business look.
Men:please bring several options of slacks, blazers, button down shirts, ties and nice polos. Dress Shoes and matching belts.
Women:skirts, slacks, blouses, work dresses, cardigans, practical heels (no stilettos) or nice flats.
College Kids:
Please bring polos, button front shirts, t-shirts, khaki shorts, basketball shorts, chinos, skirts, sundresses, sneakers, loafers, summer sandals. These are students at UNC-Chapel Hill, so if you have any UNC gear or light blue please bring it. Backpacks if you have them.
Berlin's Shoppers:
Upscale, ultra preppy daytime shoppers. Classic, wealthy and traditional. NO Jeans or Jean Shorts, please. Some brands that work well are Vineyard Vines, Southern Tide, Ralph Lauren, Lily Pulitzer and Sperry's. These are the most colorful characters on the show so please take a look at the inspiration photos below and bring items along those lines.
Men: please bring polos, button down shirts, lightweight blazers, khaki and bright colored shorts and chinos, croakies, driving loafers and boat shoes.
Women: please bring blouses, skirts, nice chinos, sundresses, sandals, espadrilles, boat shoes and nice purses.
Cleaning Person:
Please bring khaki pants, a belt and sneakers or works shoes --such as danskos or industrial, non-slip lace-up shoe. We will provide a polo for you.
