Welcome back to OBX SEASON 2---Shooting MONDAY, Sept. 28th!! If you are new with OBX, this blog is where you will find out important information on what kind of costumes you should bring as a Background Actor on the show.
Just a couple of housekeeping items to begin with......
-Please, be on time. You will be checked in by the AD Department and fill out paperwork before we can look at you. If you are late then the Costume Department does not get as much time to make sure you look great.
-Always come dressed in your first, best choice of the descriptions for your character. After reading the character descriptions that you will find here, make your best pick and wear it in. However, you will ALWAYS be expected to bring multiple options with you so that we can make the final choices. The final choices will be made by the Costume Dept. Please respect that we have the overview of the day and the show, and do not complain about what we ask you to wear. Solid colors, wide stripes, plaids, and large scale prints are great! Some color is good, as long as it isnt super bright or neon. Please do not include items with narrow stripes, busy patterns, neons, glitter, sequins, expensive or special jewelry, uncomfortable shoes, and clothing with large logos & graphics/ trademarked characters (giant nike symbols, star wars tees, etc). On this particular show, simple logos are okay as long as it is mainly wording/ lettering/ phrases (not large pieces of artwork).
- It is MANDATORY that you read this blog before coming to work EVERY TIME YOU WORK.

**Black or Subtle Somber Colors**
Women: Dresses, Skirts, Blouses, Suits, Conservative Heels (you will be outside in the grass), simple jewelry, handbags and hats if you would like.
Men: Suits, Sport Coats, Slacks, Dress Shirts, Ties, Belt and Dress Shoes.

KOOK ADULTS/KOOK TEENS:
These are our Outer Banks upper crust people. Think preppy casual & out for a lunch date at the country club or a golf/tennis outing with kook friends. Some brands that work well for the Kook characters are Vineyard Vines, Southern Tide, Ralph Lauren, Lily Pulitzer, Rainbows, & Sperrys. These are the most colorful characters on the show so please take a look at the inspiration photos below and bring items along those lines.
Men- please bring polos, button down shirts, bright colored swimsuits/swim trunks, khaki and bright colored shorts, visors, croakies, flip-flops, loafers and boat shoes.
Women- please bring casual day dresses with practical heels or wedges, polos and blouses with casual skirts or nice shorts, sundresses, rompers, coverups, sandals, boat shoes, sunglasses, casual purses, and hats.

women: please lean more towards swimwear with nice beach coverups, sandals, fashionable sunhats and matching beach bags.
men: please lean more towards boardshorts or swim trunks with button front shirts and polos.
BEACH GOERS
BUSINESS LUNCH TYPES:
Business casual and business wear. Please bring purses and briefcases if you have them. Men: bring several options of lightweight suits, slacks, blazers, button down shirts, ties and nice polos. Dress shoes and matching belts.
Women:Skirts, slacks, blouses, work dresses, practical heels (no stilettos) or nice flats.
GOLFERS:
Golfers--please bring: Golf Clothes--Khaki pants or shorts, golf pants/shorts in preppy colors, polo shirts, collared shirts, golf shoes, nice sneakers, belts and visors and hats are welcome.
TENNIS MOMS:
Please bring tennis skirts and shirts, tennis sneakers and feel free to add a light cardigan over your top.
SERVERS:
We will provide black polos and aprons. Please bring khaki pants, belt and black shoes.
BARTENDER:
Please bring a black dress shirt, black pants, black belt and black shoes.
MANAGER:
Ladies: Please bring black/navy shift dresses/business dresses, skirts, blouses and a conservative heel.
Men: Please bring a grey/black/navy suits, blazers and slacks options with coordinating dress shirts and ties and dress shoes.
SECURITY GUARD:
Please bring a dark suit, dark shirt, belt and dress shoes.
