Welcome back to OBX SEASON 4---Shooting MONDAY, APRIL 9th! If you are new with OBX, this blog is where you will find out important information on what kind of costumes you should bring as a Background Actor on the show.
-Please, be on time. You will be checked in by the AD Department and fill out paperwork before we can look at you. If you are late then the Costume Department does not get as much time to make sure you look great.
-Always come dressed in your first, best choice of the descriptions for your character. After reading the character descriptions that you will find here, make your best pick and wear it in. However, you will ALWAYS be expected to bring multiple options with you so that we can make the final choices. The final choices will be made by the Costume Dept. Please respect that we have the overview of the day and the show, and do not complain about what we ask you to wear. Solid colors, wide stripes, plaids, and large scale prints are great! Some color is good, as long as it isn't neon. Please do not include items with narrow stripes, neons, glitter, sequins, uncomfortable shoes, and clothing with large logos & graphics/ trademarked characters (giant nike symbols, star wars tees, etc). On this particular show, simple logos are okay as long as it is mainly wording/ lettering/ phrases (not large pieces of artwork).
- It is MANDATORY that you read this blog before coming to work EVERY TIME YOU WORK.
DO NOT BRING SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS, ONLY BRING HARD-SOLED, CLOSED-TOE SHOES!

REAL ESTATE AGENTS
Please bring business options to wear in an office, such as dresses, pant suits/skirt suits, blazers, sportcoats, slacks, dress shirts, loafers and heels or flats. Please avoid solid bright white items and small patterns like thin stripes, seersucker, gingham or small dots. Large patterns are fine. Please also bring accessories to complete a look, such as minimal jewelry, belts, ties and watches.
YOUTH BASEBALL PLAYERS
You are a group of neighborhood kids playing a game of baseball. Please bring casual t shirt and shorts options, along with light layers to go over top. Bring hard-soled, closed-toe shoes, absolutely no sandals or flip flops. Avoid solid bright white items and any clothing with large brands/logos. Feel free to also bring accessories such as hats.
KOOK RIOTERS
Kooks are the wealthier, preppier townspeople in OBX, so please bring summer clothing options that reflect this style. Kooks typically wear brighter colors and pastels, but please avoid solid bright white items or neon colors. If you are returning from January, please bring exactly what you wore last time and anything we gave to you will be provided. Please also bring hard-soled, closed-toe shoes, absolutely no sandals or flip flops. If you are new please bring casual summer options. Think polos, button-ups, t-shirts, plain and patterned shorts, rompers, cute tanks/halter tops, and casual skirts. Avoid bringing anything with floral print. POGUE RIOTERS
These are the folks who live and work in the Outer Banks. Think grungy skater and surfer vibes. If you are returning from January, please bring exactly what you wore last time and anything we gave to you will be provided. Please also bring hard-soled, closed-toe shoes, absolutely no sandals or flip flops. If you are new, please bring casual summer clothes that are well-worn and stick to darker colors. Think cargo shorts/pants, t-shirts/tanks and oversized layers. Please also bring accessories to complete a look, like jewelry, hats and belts. Avoid bringing anything with floral print. DEPUTIES
If you are returning, please bring anything you wore last time. If you are new, please bring a short-sleeve white crew neck t-shirt, black socks and black tactical boots if you have them.
