Welcome back to OBX SEASON 4---If you are new with OBX, this blog is where you will find out important information on what kind of costumes you should bring as a Background Actor on the show.
Just a couple of housekeeping items to begin with......
-Please, be on time. You will be checked in by the AD Department and fill out paperwork before we can look at you. If you are late then the Costume Department does not get as much time to make sure you look great.
-Always come dressed in your first, best choice of the descriptions for your character. After reading the character descriptions that you will find here, make your best pick and wear it in. However, you will ALWAYS be expected to bring multiple options with you so that we can make the final choices. The final choices will be made by the Costume Dept. Please respect that we have the overview of the day and the show, and do not complain about what we ask you to wear. Solid colors, wide stripes, plaids, and large scale prints are great! Some color is good, as long as it isn't neon. Please do not include items with narrow stripes, neons, glitter, sequins, uncomfortable shoes, and clothing with large logos & graphics/ trademarked characters (giant nike symbols, star wars tees, etc). On this particular show, simple logos are okay as long as it is mainly wording/ lettering/ phrases (not large pieces of artwork).
- It is MANDATORY that you read this blog before coming to work EVERY TIME YOU WORK.
Please read below for more information on what you should bring based on your character
- Deputies & Bailiff - Please bring a white undershirt, black socks, and black tactical boots if you have them! The rest of your costume will be provided for you.
- USMC Recruiter - Please bring a white undershirt and black crew socks. The rest of your costume will be provided.
- City Worker - Please casual clothes. Bring jeans, khakis, or casual grey / taupe pants, polo shirt, and button up shirt option, work boots, black crew socks. We will provide neon high - visibility vest.
- POGUE RIOTER - If you already shot scenes as a POGUE RIOTER please return in that exact outfit. If you are new as a Pogue Rioter Please bring at least 3 different options for a grungier summer casual look. Darker colors. Tank Tops, Shorts, Flannels, Short Sleeve Shirts, Jeans, sneakers.
- POGUE PARENT OF RIOTER - Casual khakis, jeans, casual button up shirts, older polos, work boots, or sneakers. Ladies please bring casual clothing options including darker blouses, causal tops, cardigans, button down shirts, pants, jeans, or causal dress option. Remember you are still a Pogue so you want to stay away from pastels, bright colors, and preppy looks.
- LAWYERS - Please bring business dress looks. Men can bring dress button down shirts, blazers, suit options, slacks, dress khakis, dress shoes, tie options, and a matching belt. Ladies please bring a business type dresses, pant suits, business blouses, skirts, coordinating low heels, dress shoes, or flats. Ladies please also bring coordinating jewelry with your looks. (Pearls, understated gold jewelry)
- KOOKS (PHARMACY) - (Matching from Pharmacy scenes) - If you previously played a Kook at the Pharmacy please bring your exact outfit you wore previously.
- OLDER KOOKS - Please bring polos, button down options, khakis, golf polos, Sperry shoes, or clean sneaker options. Ladies can bring preppy blouse options, dress options, white jean or pant options, khakis, Sperry shoes, flats, or sandals. (no flip flops) For men think golf or preppy boat looks, and ladies think Lily Pulitzer or Palm Beach chic looks. Ladies please also bring preppy jewelry options!
- KOOKS - (SHERIFF'S STATION) - If you previously shot at the Sheriff station please bring back your exact outfit that you previously wore. If you are a NEW Kook please bring preppy style options. For NEW guys you can bring polo options, short sleeve and long sleeve button down options in pastels or lighter colors. Please also bring dressier style jeans, khakis, or chino options. You may also bring short options in a preppy style like seersucker or chino style shorts. For shoes please bring boat sylte shoes, preppy sneakers, or loafers. NEW Kook ladies please bring preppy dress options, slacks or chino pants, preppy colorful or printed blouses, button down blouses, belt option, flats, sandal option, and coordinating jewelry.
