   Welcome back to OBX SEASON 5---Shooting Tuesday, July 15, 2025!! If you are new with OBX, this blog is where you will find out important information on what kind of costumes you should bring as a Background Actor on the show. 

Just a couple of housekeeping items to begin with......

-Please, be on time.  You will be checked in by the AD Department and fill out paperwork before we can look at you.  If you are late then the Costume Department does not get as much time to make sure you look great.  

-Always come dressed in your first, best choice of the descriptions for your character.   After reading the character descriptions that you will find here, make your best pick and wear it in.  However, you will ALWAYS be expected to bring multiple options with you so that we can make the final choices.  The final choices will be made by the Costume Dept.  Please respect that we have the overview of the day and the show, and do not complain about what we ask you to wear. Solid colors, wide stripes, plaids, and large scale prints are great! Some color is good, as long as it isn't neon. Please do not include items with narrow stripes, neons, glitter, sequins, uncomfortable shoes, and clothing with large logos & graphics/ trademarked characters (giant Nike symbols, Star Wars tees, etc). Do not bring any graphics that contain references to Charleston or South Carolina. Please avoid solid bright white items. On this particular show, simple logos are okay as long as it is mainly wording/ lettering/ phrases (not large pieces of artwork).

- It is MANDATORY that you read this blog before coming to work EVERY TIME YOU WORK.

UNIFORMED DEPUTIES

Please bring a white crew neck t-shirt, black crew socks and black tactical boots if you have them. Everything else will be provided for you.

PLAINCLOTHES OFFICERS

Please bring business casual options, including long-sleeve button down shirts, trousers, suit jackets/sport coats, dress shoes, belts, watches and ties. Take a look at the pictures below for inspiration!

DISPATCH

Please bring a white crew neck t-shirt, black crew socks and black tactical boots if you have them. Everything else will be provided for you.

CIVILIANS

Please bring casual summer outfit options, avoid overly bright colors or loud patterns. Good items to bring include t-shirts, lightweight button downs, casual blouses, shorts, jeans/pants, and casual dresses. Please also bring casual shoe options, like sandals or sneakers. Feel free to bring accessories that can complete a look, like purses/bags, belts, hats, and simple everyday jewelry. Take a look at the pictures below for inspiration!
