 Welcome back to OBX SEASON 5---Shooting Tuesday, July 29, 2025!! If you are new with OBX, this blog is where you will find out important information on what kind of costumes you should bring as a Background Actor on the show. 

Just a couple of housekeeping items to begin with......

-Please, be on time.  You will be checked in by the AD Department and fill out paperwork before we can look at you.  If you are late then the Costume Department does not get as much time to make sure you look great.  

-Always come dressed in your first, best choice of the descriptions for your character.   After reading the character descriptions that you will find here, make your best pick and wear it in.  However, you will ALWAYS be expected to bring multiple options with you so that we can make the final choices.  The final choices will be made by the Costume Dept.  Please respect that we have the overview of the day and the show, and do not complain about what we ask you to wear. Solid colors, wide stripes, plaids, and large scale prints are great! Some color is good, as long as it isn't neon. Please do not include items with narrow stripes, neons, glitter, sequins, uncomfortable shoes, and clothing with large logos & graphics/ trademarked characters (giant Nike symbols, Star Wars tees, etc). Do not bring any graphics that reference Charleston or South Carolina. Please avoid solid bright white items. On this particular show, simple logos are okay as long as it is mainly wording/ lettering/ phrases (not large pieces of artwork).

- It is MANDATORY that you read this blog before coming to work EVERY TIME YOU WORK.

TRUCK STOP FOLKS

Please bring casual summer outfit options in muted colors with a small town vibe. Items to bring include tanks, t-shirts, casual short and long sleeve button ups/flannels, jean shorts/pants, cargo shorts/pants, and other casual short/pant options. Please bring casual shoes, such as flip flops, sandals and sneakers. Feel free to bring accessories that can complete a look, such as hats, sunglasses and jewelry. Please bring well-worn, old white t-shirt options, discoloration and light staining is okay. Please also bring old, well-worn work pants or jeans, frayed hems and fading is okay! Bring casual closed-toe shoe options, like old sneakers or boots. Feel free to bring accessories, like bandanas and belts.
