Welcome back to OBX SEASON 5---Shooting Monday, July 7, 2025!! If you are new with OBX, this blog is where you will find out important information on what kind of costumes you should bring as a Background Actor on the show.
Just a couple of housekeeping items to begin with......
-Please, be on time. You will be checked in by the AD Department and fill out paperwork before we can look at you. If you are late then the Costume Department does not get as much time to make sure you look great.
-Always come dressed in your first, best choice of the descriptions for your character. After reading the character descriptions that you will find here, make your best pick and wear it in. However, you will ALWAYS be expected to bring multiple options with you so that we can make the final choices. The final choices will be made by the Costume Dept. Please respect that we have the overview of the day and the show, and do not complain about what we ask you to wear. Solid colors, wide stripes, plaids, and large scale prints are great! Some color is good, as long as it isn't neon. Please do not include items with narrow stripes, neons, glitter, sequins, uncomfortable shoes, and clothing with large logos & graphics/ trademarked characters (giant Nike symbols, Star Wars tees, etc). Please avoid solid bright white items. On this particular show, simple logos are okay as long as it is mainly wording/ lettering/ phrases (not large pieces of artwork).

BANK TELLERS
Please bring professional business attire, such as slacks, button down shirts, blouses and skirts, or dresses. Women, please bring lightweight sweater/blazer options in case a layer is needed. Please bring work-appropriate shoes, such as low heels, flats, loafers, oxfords or other dress shoes. Please also bring accessories that can complete a look, such as belts, ties, watches (not Apple watches) and jewelry. Take a look at the pictures below for inspiration!
BANK PATRONS
Please bring generic, casual summer outfits options, such as lightweight short or long sleeve button ups, blouses, jeans, khakis or chinos, shorts, skirts, and dresses/rompers. Bring casual shoe options, like sandals, boat shoes or sneakers. Feel free to bring accessories that complete a look, like purses, belts, watches (not Apple watches) and jewelry. Take a look at the pictures under the CIVILIANS description for inspiration!
CIVILIANS
Please bring casual summer outfit options, avoid overly bright colors or loud patterns. Good items to bring include t-shirts, lightweight button downs, casual blouses, shorts, jeans/pants, and casual dresses. Please also bring casual shoe options, like sandals or sneakers. Feel free to bring accessories that can complete a look, like purses/bags, belts, hats, and simple everyday jewelry. Take a look at the pictures below for inspiration!
DEPUTIES
Please bring a white crew neck t-shirt, black crew socks and black tactical boots if you have them. Feel free to bring watches with you as long as they are not Apple watches. A uniform shirt, pants and belt will be provided for you.
DISPATCH

CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS

INMATES
Please bring a white A-tank and white or light-colored underwear to wear under your costume. Please also bring white/off-white slip on shoes without laces if you have them. Everything else will be provided for you.
CELLMATE

GOLF CROWD MEMBER
Please bring preppy summer outfit options appropriate for the golf course, including short or long-sleeve button up shirts, polos, shorts, trousers, skirts, blouses and dresses. Please bring shoe options as well, such as clean sneakers, boat shoes or sandals. Please also bring accessories that can complete a look, such as purses/bags, sunglasses, hats, jewelry and watches (not Apple watches). Take a look at the pictures below for inspiration!
KOOK GOLFERS
Please bring outfit options that are appropriate for golfing during the summer, such as polos or other collared shirts, shorts or trousers, and golf shoes or sneakers. Women, please bring sleeveless or short sleeve collared golf shirts/polos and athletic skirts/shorts/trousers. If you already own golf gloves please bring these, too. Feel free to bring accessories that can complete a look, such as hats, sunglasses, watches (not Apple watches), jewelry and belts. Some brands that work well for the Kook characters are Vineyard Vines, Southern Tide, Lilly Pulitzer, Rainbows and Sperry. These are the most colorful characters on the show. POGUE CADDIES
Please bring a white crew neck t-shirt, a white A-tank, white socks, white or light-colored underwear and khaki or white shorts/trousers to wear under your costume. Bring white, tan or gray compression/bike shorts if you have them. Please also bring clean sneakers. Feel free to bring accessories, like sunglasses, to complete the look. The rest of your uniform will be provided for you.
