7/9/25 - LAUNDROMAT

Welcome back to OBX SEASON 5---Shooting Wednesday, July 9, 2025!! If you are new with OBX, this blog is where you will find out important information on what kind of costumes you should bring as a Background Actor on the show. 

Just a couple of housekeeping items to begin with......

-Please, be on time.  You will be checked in by the AD Department and fill out paperwork before we can look at you.  If you are late then the Costume Department does not get as much time to make sure you look great.  

-Always come dressed in your first, best choice of the descriptions for your character.   After reading the character descriptions that you will find here, make your best pick and wear it in.  However, you will ALWAYS be expected to bring multiple options with you so that we can make the final choices.  The final choices will be made by the Costume Dept.  Please respect that we have the overview of the day and the show, and do not complain about what we ask you to wear. Solid colors, wide stripes, plaids, and large scale prints are great! Some color is good, as long as it isn't neon. Please do not include items with narrow stripes, neons, glitter, sequins, uncomfortable shoes, and clothing with large logos & graphics/ trademarked characters (giant Nike symbols, Star Wars tees, etc). Please avoid solid bright white items. On this particular show, simple logos are okay as long as it is mainly wording/ lettering/ phrases (not large pieces of artwork).

- It is MANDATORY that you read this blog before coming to work EVERY TIME YOU WORK.

KOOK LADY/OTHER WOMAN

Please bring casual summer outfit options that have a preppy aesthetic; think brands like Vineyard Vines, Lilly Pulitzer and Sperry. Bring shorts, lightweight pants, skirts, dresses, and blouse options. Please also bring casual shoe options, like sandals or boat shoes. Feel free to bring accessories that complete a look, like purses and jewelry. Take a look at the pictures below for inspiration!

LAUNDROMAT PATRONS

Please bring casual summer outfit options, including tanks, t-shirts, blouses, shorts and lightweight pants. Please also bring casual shoe options, like sandals or sneakers. Feel free to bring accessories that complete a look, like purses/tote bags, hats, and jewelry. Take a look at the pictures below for inspiration!

BULLDOZER DRIVER

Please bring old worn-in t-shirt options, as well as blue jeans or cargo work pants. Stains and rips are okay! Bring steel-toed work boots if you have them. A high-vis vest will be provided for you. Take a look at the pictures below for inspiration!
